Why Delhi Police take action of section 144 in Ramdev Hunger Strike in Ramlila Ground at Delhi

Delhi Police said Section 144 : which prohibits assembly of five or more people and holding of public meetings, has been imposed around the area.

Just before Ramdev's fast at Ramlila Maidan, govt withdraws Section 144 from Central Delhi.

Ramdev was booked the ground for nearly a month for his hunger strike against corruption and black money stashed by Indians in foreign banks. But in less than 24 hours after he launched the high profile protest, police shortly after Saturday midnight swooped down on the area and took the yoga guru out of the capital.

According to an estimate, over 2 lakh people are likely to come to the Maidan to participate in the satyagraha and support Ramdev in his fast. But no one here is ready to speak about the total cost incurred on the massive build up.
