NBA Finals, and somehow we are facing the same foe. I suppose that's helpful to the story line of redemption, right? This Miami Heat team that we're going to be playing is juuuust a little different than the last time, but then again, so it's this Dallas Mavericks team. With the way our boys have been playing these past few weeks, it's hard to keep a level head about our chances in the finals. But as we've been doing all along, we will remain cautiously optimistic and bite our tongues to keep from jinxing the Mavs.
We've had the distinct pleasure of watching Dirk Nowitzki prove to the entire basketball nation why he deserved his MVP and why he'll leave a lasting legacy as the greatest seven-footer of all time. Yeah, I said it. Now the rest of the world can understand our joy when watching him take those contested Euro Leanbacks. They can join in our celebration when he sticks his tongue out and gives a fist pump after dropping a transition three. And they can appreciate why he never enjoys a win for what it is, and rather recognizes it as one more step towards his ultimate goal:
A ring.
